About Nurture Education Design

Transforming bedside teaching, feedback, and coaching into meaningful learner growth.

Nurture Education Design creates simple, evidence-informed tools that make clinical teaching clearer, more intentional, and more growth-oriented. Rooted in feedback literacy, coaching science, and competency-based medical education, the NEST Framework provides a structured approach to observation, real-time coaching, reflection, feedback, and goal-setting. Designed for real clinical environments, NEST strengthens both teaching quality and coaching capacity—promoting purposeful learner development every day.

Our Mission

Our mission is to strengthen clinical teaching by providing simple, structured, and evidence-informed tools that support clarity, reflection, meaningful feedback, and coaching behaviors. We believe that when bedside encounters become more intentional, both educators and learners grow—one interaction at a time.

What We Do

Nurture Education Design develops practical frameworks that make bedside teaching more structured, reflective, and coachable.
Our flagship tool, the NEST Framework, guides educators and learners through:

  • shared learning objectives
  • direct observation
  • rapid-cycle coaching prompts
  • reflective questions
  • feedback grounded in performance
  • goal-setting for the next encounter

By bringing clarity and consistency to everyday clinical interactions, we help medical schools and clerkship programs strengthen teaching skills, enhance learner development, and embed intentional teaching and micro-coaching into busy clinical practice.

Our Story

NEST began as a tool Dr. Czuba created to solve a personal challenge: giving learners feedback that was specific, timely, and directly connected to their bedside performance. What started as a simple way to bring more clarity to her own teaching evolved into a scalable framework supporting reflection, coaching, and daily learner growth. Today, NEST helps educators and learners turn routine patient encounters into structured opportunities for improvement—making both teaching and coaching more intentional and effective.

About the Founder

Nurture Education Design was founded by Jessica Czuba, MD, FAAP—a pediatrician, clinical educator, and innovator in structured bedside teaching.
Dr. Czuba’s work focuses on:

  • improving feedback literacy
  • strengthening coaching literacy
  • enhancing learner reflection
  • creating practical, scalable teaching tools

Her goal is to help educators teach—and coach—with greater clarity and confidence in busy clinical environments, while supporting learners in developing the skills needed to thrive in a competency-based medical education system.

Dr. Czuba is currently training through Stanford’s CoachME program and will join Harvard’s Training to Teach in Medicine program in 2027, bringing nationally recognized expertise in coaching and medical education innovation.
