Our Story

NEST began with a practical clinical teaching problem: how to move beyond general feedback such as “good job” and create brief teaching conversations that help learners understand what they did well, reflect on their performance, and identify what to work on next.

Dr. Jessica Czuba initially developed NEST for medical student teaching in the newborn nursery. What began as a practical teaching tool evolved into a structured framework connecting learner agency, clinical experience, reflection, targeted feedback, and collaborative goal setting within the flow of routine patient care.

Nurture Education Design was founded by Jessica Czuba, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician, clinical educator, and medical education innovator whose work focuses on translating educational principles into practical approaches for workplace teaching.
